چکیده

The spin-torque nano-oscillator (STNO), which is a novel type of nano-sized microwave oscillator driven by direct current, has been considered as promising candidate for future RF transceivers due to its scalability, nanoscale size and high frequency tunability. However, the potential application STNO limited because stable oscillation requires an external magnetic field. In this work, influences field-like torque applied current intensity on oscillations with perpendicularly magnetized free layer are studied theoretically based macrospin model (also known single-spin or single-domain model) Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert-Slonczewski (LLGS) equation in absence It demonstrated numerically that can be observed when ratio between spin negative value larger than certain depending damping coefficient intensity, whose physical mechanism understood terms energy balance equation. Moreover, modulated intensity. Particularly, absolute smaller (above critical intensity), more conducive it suppress formation second third frequencies, thereby enhancing STNO's "single-frequency" feature. Our findings suggest tunable zero-field STNO, may useful designing transceivers.

Images of a spin-torque-driven magnetic nano-oscillator.

We present the first space- and time-resolved images of the spin-torque-induced steady-state oscillation of a magnetic vortex in a spin-valve nanostructure. We find that the vortex structure in a nanopillar is considerably more complicated than the 2D idealized structure often-assumed, which has important implications for the driving efficiency. The sense of the vortex gyration is uniquely dete...

Spin Torque Nano Oscillator for Blueshift and Redshift Detections

Oscillator is the most essential part in the communication, navigation and measurement systems. We propose a spin torque nano oscillator (STNO) which offers the possibility of using the transfer of spin angular momentum via spin polarized current to generate microwave signal. Using this STNO, our simulation result demonstrates that the current dependence of the oscillation frequency changes can...

Anomalous spin-orbit torque switching due to field-like torque–assisted domain wall reflection

Spin-orbit torques (SOTs) allow the electrical control of magnetic states. Current-induced SOT switching of the perpendicular magnetization is of particular technological importance. The SOT consists of damping-like and field-like torques, and understanding the combined effects of these two torque components is required for efficient SOT switching. Previous quasi-static measurements have report...

Fractional synchronization of spin-torque nano-oscillators.

We experimentally demonstrate a series of fractional synchronization regimes (Devil's staircase) in a spin-torque nano-oscillator driven by a microwave field. These regimes are characterized by rational relations between the driving frequency and the frequency of the oscillation. An analysis based on the phase model of auto-oscillator indicates that fractional synchronization becomes possible w...
